Five Days Combined Trek: Sahara and High Atlas
Marrakech – Imlil Valley 1740m
Here you will pass through the small village of Aremd and then onto the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch. Eastward bound you will cross floodplains where you take a mule track up onto the higher cliffs. Once crossing the river you will have an oppotunity to take a short break to inspect an ancient pastoral shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, which attracts tourists and pilgrims. Snaking slowing upwards you carry on with your ascent, reaching the snowline and Toubkal Refuge. This will be your accommadation for the night. approx. 4 to 5hrs walking.
Mizane Valley – Jebel Toubkal – Imlil
You will firstly cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas mountains. Passing through many Berber Villages along the way you will have a chance to view riverside oasis and barren hillsides that are clustered with Kasbahs. After lunch you will drive further to Valley of the Roses, with beautiful views of the Dades valley and the valley of a thousand kasbahs. You will stay overnight in Dades.
Imlil – Tichkapass 2660m – Dades Gorges
Departing early from Aït Aïssa you will walk towards Tizi Oussem (1900m). We pass by Tizi Mzik (2400m), where you will have a final chance to take in the stunning views before descending to the village of Mzik before arriving back in Imlil and on to Marrakech.
Dades Valley – Merzouga
After waking, we will drive back toward Merzouga, along the way you will have a chance to visit the famous Todhra Gorge with another stop at Soukra Palm Groves. In the afternoon you will ride camels into the dunes. Your accommodation will be in Berber tents. After relaxing and enjoying a beautiful sunset you will enjoy a fantastic dinner and have the opportunity to listen to authentic Berber music.
Transport from and back to Marrakech, guide, hotel in Dades Gorges, breakfast and dinner during desert excursion and a camel ride.
